Synopsis

The greatest race in the history of the American Old West is about to start. In San Diego, thousands of people are waiting to cross six thousand kilometers in order to compete for the chance to win a grand prize worth fifty million dollars. Contestants can use any vehicle, as the era where horses were the only option is coming to an end. The competitors will be forced to endure harsh conditions as they travel up to 100 kilometers per day in uncharted wastelands. Steel Ball Run truly is a unique event.

Johnny Joestar is a young, crippled ex-horse racer who has traveled to San Diego in order to see the race start. Gyro Zeppeli is a racer who wears two steel balls instead of a pistol at his waist. Gyro Zeppeli uses one of his steel ball to unleash a powerful power that forces a man in a duel to shoot his gun. Johnny touches the steel ball in the middle of the duel and feels an incredible power surge through his legs. This allows him to stand for the first two years. Johnny, determined to discover the secret behind the steel balls decides to enter the race and begins his strange journey across America.

Background

JoJo no Kimyou No 7: Steel Ball Run Originally, the story was presented as a separate one. JoJo Weekly Shounen Jump Magazine serialized the series. Steel Ball Run From issues #847 2004, Serialization was then transferred to Ultra Jump Magazine from issue May 2005. The series has been officially declared as part 7 of the JoJo no Kimyou Bouken series.
